This recipe is good for the BBQ
Ingredients:
4 steaks, (175-225g/6-8oz each)
2 tsp dried mixed herbs
2 tsp paprika
2 tsp garlic granules
2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 tsp dried onions
¾-1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp salt
Method:
- Grind all of the ingredients in a coffee grinder or pound in a pestle
and mortar until you have a fine powder. Rub plenty over the steaks and
leave for about 30 minutes for the flavours to develop.
- When you're ready to eat, place the flavoured steaks on the barbecue
over medium-hot coals. Cook for about 4 minutes each side for medium-rare,
adding a couple of extra minutes to the cooking for a medium-to-well-done
finish. Try not to prod or poke the steaks too much as you want to sear
in the flavour, not lose the juices on to the hot coals.
