The ILT in Rural Industries EQUAL project
is sponsored by the six land based colleges in South West of England,
which specialise in supporting rural business/communities.
The work will build on the themes of :
- Developing adaptability in rural enterprises and particularly supporting
the ability of those most at risk as a result of structural change
in the rural economy
- Developing learning networks, supported by peer group facilitators,
to support flexible learning around identifying and meeting business
challenges
- Resourcing these networks with materials in identified diversification
opportunities, and making these available/supporting them via a rural
business portal, backed up with a Communications Centre.
The project seeks to use ICT to help those who are disadvantaged for
instance by isolation, and lack of higher level skills needed for alternative
employment.
