Tourism is one of the largest industries in the UK worth approximately £75.9 billion in 2002 and supporting around 2.1 million jobs. The English Tourism Council say cuts in interest rates and "the strength of the consumer sector is good news for the tourism market" (Source: Insights 2002-2003).
